Hanukkah at Mishkon 2025

This year's Hanukkah at Mishkon marks a historic 77 years of bringing light to Main Street in Venice! Join us as we continue Mishkon’s tradition of creating memories and bringing people together in community through services, a community Hanukkah Party, movie night, and more!

Pre-Hanukkah Tot Shabbat

Saturday, December 13, 2025

10:45 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Join us for a joyful and interactive pre-Hanukkah Tot Shabbat service with music and storytelling, followed by grape juice and challah on the bimah with Rabbi Katzan, and a kiddush lunch. Tot Shabbats are free, and members and non-members are welcome.

Mishkon's Hanukkah Candle Lighting Party

5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

You're invited to celebrate with Mishkon’s welcoming community as we share latkes and enjoy award-winning Kosher brisket, vegetarian dinner options, and sufganiyot, with song and ruach at our beautiful synagogue, located a few blocks from the beach. Other activities to look forward to include competing in Jewpardy (Get it? Jewish Jeopardy!), making Hanukkah decorations and cards, and playing bingo and Pin the Candle on the Menorah!

Hanukkah Young Professional Mingle & Happy Hour

Looking to celebrate Hanukkah and connect with new Jewish friends? Join us for a free festive Young Professionals Hanukkah Mingle! Enjoy wine, beer, and soft drinks alongside a munchies and relaxed conversation.

Chinese Food and Movie Night

5 - 8 p.m.

Come celebrate Xmas the Jewish way, with Chinese food and a movie! Dinner will begin at 5:15 p.m. with a catered Kosher Chinese meal, paired with schmoozing followed by our feature film. The film will be announced shortly. Suggested donation of $18 per adult to help cover the cost of popcorn, drinks and security.
