Services

At Mishkon Tephilo, we offer a variety of services to meet the diverse spiritual needs of our community. Our Kabbalat Shabbat and Candle Lighting service takes place online and provides a time to receive Shabbat together with song and sharing. On Saturday mornings, we offer an in-person Shabbat service that is warm and engaging, with opportunities for community members to lead parts of the service and read from the weekly Torah portion. Finally, we provide services for the High Holy Days, which include Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, with a focus on introspection and spiritual renewal. All are welcome to join us in these sacred moments of prayer, reflection, and community.

View the Shabbat livestream

Join Rabbi Katzan and the Mishkon community in-person on Saturday morning, for a heimisch, warm, and engaging Shabbat service. You may wish to lead parts of the service and have the honor of reading the weekly Torah portion. Rabbi Katzan shares a sermon and engages the community in discussion. Mourners and those observing a yahrzeit lead us in the Mourner’s Kaddish.

Whether one is new to Hebrew or well-versed in liturgy, the music and practice of our service will quickly feel like the warm embrace of a trusted friend. All are welcome.

Stay for kiddush afterwards.

High Holy Days

Mishkon’s beautiful sanctuary fills for the High Holy Days, from Rosh Hashana through the deeply spiritual Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur. Services featured a mix of traditional and contemporary liturgy, with the Hazzan and the Kol Mishkon Choir. We welcomed members, loyal non-members and many new faces. We look forward to seeing you next year.
