The Preschool at Mishkon: Events

High Holy Days Family Services
Family Services are led with our little ones at the center. Music, songs, and stories will be the way we open the world of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to our children. This is not a drop-off, but rather a whole family experience we hope will be meaningful for the whole family.

All children enrolled in child care can attend family services. Learn more and register your little ones for child care hereView our High Holy Days full schedule here

Tashlich on the Beach Sunday, September 28  10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Tashlich with Mishkon's community is a joyous event so bring your friends, family, and a picnic lunch to the gathering at Lifeguard Station 28. We will toss crumbs from our pockets into the sea (or more environmentally friendly seaweed gathered from the beach).

Simchat Torah Service and BBQ Wednesday, October 15  10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
All are welcome to our Family and Community Hakafot services at 10 a.m. We will dance and sing to celebrate the Torah, our Book of Teachings, and then gather for a celebratory luncheon. It's a great way to bring the season to a joyous conclusion.
A BBQ lunch under Mishkon's Sukkah will follow the service from 1 - 2:30 p.m. Registration is required hereChildren younger than 12 eat free.

Join us on Fridays at 9 a.m. for a special Baby & Me series!
Each week, one of our wonderful local community partners will join us for a fun activity, like music, sensory art, and more. Afterward, you’re invited to join our preschoolers for Shabbat songs and challah.

Jewish Roots Project
Weekly Wednesday  3:30 5:30 p.m.

JRP (Jewish Roots Project) is a weekly, drop-off after-school program for children ages 4-6 (TK through 1st grade) that nurtures connection, creativity, and community through fun and relatable exploration of Jewish culture. It's also a great way to stay connected to your Mishkon preschool friends after you graduate, and make new ones along the way!

Each Wednesday afternoon, kids will learn a mini lesson from Rabbi Joshua Katzan (that will surely include some music!), followed by alternating creative workshops. Every week, they’ll engage in either process art (led by Rachel Woodbridge from ARTWELL) or hands-on cooking (led by Shiri Sassoon). They’ll be fully immersed in modern Jewish culture, singing songs, tasting traditional cuisine, creating meaningful art, and strengthening their connections to their roots.
