As part of our Sukkot celebration, Mishkon's Social Action Committee will be helping rejuvenate the Safe Place for Youth (SPY) Community Garden! SPY's goal is to empower young people experiencing homelessness to thrive. Volunteers of all ages will help with painting inspirational bricks, decorating the garden, weeding/sidewalk clean-up, and preparing garden beds for fall planting. At the end of the day, we will enjoy a “taste of the garden,” and we are able to enjoy edible flowers and a delicious snack made with vegetables from the harvest.

Location: SPY Community Garden at Beyond Baroque, 681 Venice Blvd. Venice CA 90291

(Please meet at the Garden Shed closest to the Fire Station off Venice and Shell)

Volunteer Forms: Please sign the COVID Acknowledgement, Liability Waiver, and Non-Employment Confidentiality Agreement forms. You may print and email signed agreements to volunteer@safeplaceforyouth.org, bring print-out(s) day-of, or fill out the forms we provide the day of volunteering.

Garden Parking: There is limited street parking around the Community Garden, especially on Venice and Shell. There is also a free public lot on Orson Bean Way (next to SPARC).
