Engaging in learning is a hallmark of Judaism. Our Scholar, Rabbi Dr. Bernat-Kunin, is the Rabbinic Head of the Milken Community Schools, and he is a life-long mentor to our Rabbi Katzan. His work in religious moral philosophy will bring fascinating questions for us to consider. You will leave enriched and inspired!

Kabbalat Shabbat Service and Dinner
Friday, May 30  6 - 8 p.m. 
Join us for our Scholar-in-Residence Shabbat, at which we are honored to have Rabbi Dr. Gordon Bernat-Kunin teach us following Kabbalat Shabbat service and dinner. Dinner is $36 per person and non-meat options will be available.

Shabbat Morning Service and Kiddush
Saturday, May 31  9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Rabbi Dr. Gordon Bernat-Kunin will provide the D'var Torah during Shabbat services. Following kiddush lunch, he will lead us in an interactive study and discussion.
 
 

About Rabbi Gordon Bernat-Kunin

Rabbi Gordon Bernat-Kunin serves as Rabbinic Head of School and Director of the Beit Midrash/Global Beit Midrash at the Milken Community High School. He was the founder and Educational Director of Makor and a Lecturer in Rabbinics at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary and received his Ph. D. in Religion and Social Ethics from USC.
