Based on real events, A Hidden Life is the story of an unsung hero, Austrian Blessed Franz Jägerstätter (played by August Diehl, "Inglourious Basterds", "Salt"), a conscientious objector, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the peasant farmer is faced with making life-threatening decisions, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife Fanni (Valerie Pachner) and children that keeps his spirit alive.
