Prophets with Rabbi Dan Shevitz

Monday Evenings at 7:30 p.m.

Rabbi Dan is teaching five sessions on Prophets, on Monday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The course runs from May 11 to June 8.

The focus of the sessions will be Amos: The First Prophet. A close reading of the Book of Amos. Please bring a copy of the JPS translation. Alternatively, you can use this online version (with a split screen):

Talmud and Tea

with Rabbi Dan Shevitz

Join Rabbi Dan for a virtual reprisal of the original Talmud and Tea, now titled: Talmud and Whatever You’re Drinking!

Join us on Zoom on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to noon. Each week, we’ll take on a different Talmudic discussion. Adult Hebrew Classes

Thursdays through June 4

7:00 p.m. Beginners; 8:00 p.m. Intermediate

Mishkon devotee Shai Avital is leading a six-week session of adult Hebrew via Zoom. There is no charge for the class, but please RSVP to Shai. Email Shai at shaiavit@gmail.com with any questions. 

Shai is a native Hebrew speaker and fluent in English. He is passionate about Jewish values and teaching Hebrew. Shai's goal is to make learning Hebrew as accessible and meaningful as possible.  He was born and raised in Jerusalem and moved to Los Angeles with his wife, Julie, and their two dogs, Tony and Lola, in 2016.

Before moving to the U.S., Shai served in the Israel Defense Forces until he got injured and was discharged. After recovering from his injury, he earned a Bachelor of Law degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He practiced tax law for four years with FBC&CO, one of Israel's leading law firms. Since 2016, Shai has worked in the financial services and financial technology industries. In his free time, he loves to travel, hike, and cook.
