Madrichim Program

    Dear Mishkon Graduates,

Completing your Bar/Bat Mitzvah is an incredible accomplishment.  This mitzvah is the end of your childhood and enters you into the world of adulthood.  Your Jewish education should not come to a stop after this successful moment.

This year I would like to invite all of you to join our Madrichim program (teacher’s assistant.) This program is designed to learn the skills and the techniques to become a teacher. You will be given the opportunity to work closely with an experienced teacher and help plan an activity or lesson for the students. Religious school classes meet on Thursday afternoons from 4:00-6:00pm and on Sunday mornings from 9:30-12:00.  You can choose to work either day or both days and this can be used for your community service hours.  As an extra addition to the program you will also be able to continue your Jewish learning by studying with Rabbi Dan two Sunday mornings a month from 11:00-12:00pm.  You can also choose to not work in the classroom but still come twice a month and study with Rabbi Dan.

Working in our school will give you the skills to become a leader and to take pride in teaching others.  Other benefits of being in this program is that it will give you a chance to stay in touch with your friends from Religious School and you will be able to give back the Jewish education that was given to you.  If you are interested please contact Keri Loventhal in the Religious School office at 310-392-3029 or you can e-mail her at

I look forward to hearing from you!
